The Pastor. Carl Que Hickerson accepted the call as Lead Pastor of Destiny Baptist Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia on November 10, 2002. Born in Fairmont, West Virginia on October 6, 1968, Rev. Hickerson is a third generation Preacher and Pastor.

Prior to accepting the call to Destiny Baptist Church, Pastor Hickerson served as the Senior Pastor of Resurrection Baptist Church in Braddock, Pennsylvania for six years. During his tenure at Resurrection, its worship attendance increased tremendously in spite of being in a community that was experiencing a decrease in population. He also served as president of the Greater Braddock Ministerial Association and president of Resurrection Power, Inc., a faith-based community development corporation. He was a member of the "One Church-One Child" of Pittsburgh Board of Directors, Western Region. Additionally, he was an Old Testament Survey Instructor at the Metro-Urban Institute of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Pastor Hickerson received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and his Masters of Divinity Degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he is currently a Doctoral Candidate.

Now residing in Martinsburg with his wife, Carmen LeAnn Hickerson, Pastor Hickerson is blessed to lead a congregation with a history of God's favor and anointing. Under his leadership the church has grown to have nearly five hundred active adult members and over 30 active mission teams and ministries. His vision has given the congregation an ever-expanding circle of contact in the local community and quad-state region. Pastor Hickerson has defined Destiny as a people and a place of WORSHIP, WELLNESS, WHOLENESS AND WISDOM.

In the community, Pastor Hickerson serves as a Board Member of the Imani Foundation, Inc., the social arm of Destiny. He also serves on the Berkeley County Board of Education's Diversity Committee.

Pastor Hickerson is an anointed preacher and teacher, giving practical examples of how to live a spiritual life in this dying world. His ministry is about life and living in the peace which God has provided for us with the expectations of the promises God has made remembering that?
